Review: Etude House Give Me Chocolate Collection (Valentine's Day Limited Edition Collection)

Hello everyone! I regret that this post did not go live on Valentine's Day since this collection from Etude House is specifically made for the day you worship your significant other Valentine's, I mean.

But regardless, I hope you will enjoy what I have to say about this special collection!

(For reference: This collection came out with a total of 6 nail polishes and 3 eyeshadow duos. I only have what I have to show you, so bare with me.)

First up, we are going to talk about the cute little chocolate bar inspired eyeshadow duos. (I am            missing the Salted Caramel duo, but it is pretty similar to Cherry Truffle.)

Can we first just say how cute the packaging is? It's very suitable to the Valentine's Day theme   without being redundant of the same ol' heart packaging that we typically see everywhere during the month of February.

On the back side of the "chocolate bar" there are some cute quotes!
"Please remember that no matter what life throws at you, there is always chocolate!"
Okay. That was ridiculously adorable. And I 100% agree.
"Chocolate shadow for girls who need sweet comfort for their bittersweet lives."
"Comes with a real chocolate design that gives off a sweet cacao fragrance, providing you the delightful experience of just opening a chocolate box."

It also gives a description of the eyeshadow duos. It will be different for each the shade.
For the Cacao Fudge one, the description is:
"Chocolate color of deep savory taste and dazzling foil glitter gently melts onto two eyelids for sweet eyes."
For the Cherry Truffle one, the description is:
"Chocolate color of deep savory taste and fresh syrup color gently melts onto two eyelids for sweet eyes."

I personally don't smell the cacao or chocolate fragrance like The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, but I do smell a sweet fragrance. A perfume scent I should say. No chocolate resemblance.

When you slide the product out, inside is a container holding the duo. It lists the reasons why you should give me chocolate. THIS IS TOO FREAKING CUTE. AND HOW I CAN RELATE IT EVERY ONE OF THEM. HAHA. I swear, Etude House gets more quirky and cute with every new collection they release.

So on the left is Cherry Truffle, and the right is Cacao Fudge. If you look at the promotional pictures from Etude House, you'd see the Salted Caramel is similar to Cherry Truffle expect the pink corally shade is more glittery.

I have to say, I am very surprised and impressed of the quality of these eyeshadows. Normally, I think Korean brand eyeshadows are on the weaker side compared to Western brands. But, Etude House totally wowed me away this time.

This is the swatch of Cherry Truffle. My favorite out of the two that I tried. This duo's shades are more consistent with quality and pigmentation wise. Both are very soft to the touch and really pigmented with just one swipe.

In the pan, the dark shade would seem to come out as a warm chocolate shade. However, when applied, it comes out more of a coopery brown. The finish of this shade is statin.

The coral pink one is matte.

Next up is the Cacao Fudge. This duo was slightly disappointing as I was very happy and impressed with Cherry Truffle. The yellow shade come off really flaky and somewhat rough. Texture and pigmentation did not live up to my expectation. However, the brown shade made it better for me. It was creamy and pigmented.

The brown shade has slight shimmers to it but it's not too noticeable on the eyes.

Here is a look that I created using the Cherry Truffle duos along with some other Etude House products. I'll probably do a makeup tutorial on my channel, hopefully soon!

Next up are the nail polishes. Again, I have 3 out of the 6 shades released in this collection.

I love Etude House nail polishes and my collection has quite grown over the past couple years. The application is very smooth and easy to apply. I typically use two coats per nail and they come out as opaque as the bottle.
Btw: These nail polishes smells like chocolate! YAY for not smelling chemicals and actually smells delicious.

This is #313 Cherry Ganache. It is a warm chocolate brown. I really like this color and was intrigued by this the most. Maybe it's because I have nothing like this in my nail polish collection but who knows. It's a nice shade.

This is #310 Mint Choco Chip. If you know me in real life, you'd know that I adore Mint Chocolate. So was very happy to see Etude House came out with this shade. It is a mint green with brown glitter.  It will be great to paint the ring finger as an accent with this shade.

This is #314 Milk Cocoa. This is more of a cool toned brown compared to #313 Cherry Ganache.

On my nails is Cherry Ganache. It just looks so mature and goes well with my skin tone. I love it so much!

That is it for my review on the Etude House 2015 limited edition collection: Give Me Chocolate.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading and found it helpful.

Have a great day!
